JOHNNYWISHBONE
i rode. i saw the oil temperature indication. thought it was oil level. read the manual. checked oil "bullseye." added oil. oil level (cold) is at top of bullseye. do i need to remove oil? i'm not feeling really intelligent right now. bike has 300 miles on it. i figured using just a little oil was not unreasonable. now i worry about foaming. thanks, jp Link to comment

GordonB
Being new, the proper way to check oil is..... After a ride, put bike on side stand for 5-10 minutes, this allows the oil to drain from the oil cooler (must be hot or thermostat can close and prevent oil from draining). Now, If you check the oil while on the side stand, site glass should be full. Put bike on center stand, oil should be anywhere from center dot to top of site glass. That's it! After a while you won't even bother.......... Link to comment
