Hybrid mileage/power issue

The other day I opened the glove box of my Camry Hybrid to get something, and there was a DEAD RAT in the box. It had apparently tried to escape the box the last time I'd opened it, just as I shut it on his head, which became instantly flat. Must have happened the previous day, as there was no telltale odor.

I'm concerned about this from several angles:

1. If one can get out of the engine, can the rest?

2. With the loss of one RP, will the increased effort required cause a loss of fuel economy?

3. Ditto, with the loss of one RP, will acceleration be noticeably reduced?

4. Whip rode in the Hybrid one time, in the passenger seat. Coincidence that a rat appears in the glove box five months later????????

I'm not making this up. About the rat. Or the fact that Whip rode in the car.

Yes, but not the kind of snow you mean. Mountain cedar pollen "season" has started. It's snowing orange pollen. I'm trapped in my house with a variety of antihistamines, decongestants, and my favorite, hydrocodone cough syrup.

But what does that have to do with the reduction in RP?

I think that if one rat power leaves all the rat powers will follow suit. It appears that the sight window is in the glove box. Check the box again. You might have killed the last one. Contact Toyota for replacement hybrid varieties as they eat less. Insist on Genuine Toyota Replacement Hybrid Rats.

Have you considered taking the car in for a cat scan just to be safe? Also, are you sure what you found was a rat? It could have been a squirrel with a gimp tail. I hear they are more vigorous and though there is no perceived torque gain, they do reduce quarter-mile ET's by up to 4/10th of a second.

That is a nice car!

It would be a GREAT car with a Chevy 350, Holley double pumper, cherry bombs, rock crusher tranny, Ram air induction and a 400 watt Alpine wit a sub woofer under the rear seat and 12 speakers.

SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm, Dave, you bring a different perspective. So, you think the rat wasn't part of the power train? You're saying Whip put it there, right? You really think it would only be two hours labor?

Reckon that its part of their hybrid package. Maybe to increase mileage they use rats in a wheel to power the a/c fan. I would sell the Toyota and move......
