VinnyR11 Posted January 10, 2011 Share Posted January 10, 2011 There's a great quote in Johnny Connolly's (yes the comedian) ITV series Journey to the Edge of the World - exploring the Northwest Passage, which goes something like "There's no bad weather, just the wrong clothes." On the days when we don't have the "right" clothes we just comfy up by the fireplace and read a good book. Ya gotta learn to play in/with winter...... I use that very quote all the time. I've also drummed it into our kids so they appreciate the change in seasons. Maybe it's even more true on cold bike rides. To your point, we learned to play in the winter. Today's choices for layering clothes are so effective that when going for winter day hikes we bring a backpack simply to have a place to store layers as we warm up. We took a beautiful hike yesterday in the snow, and every turn was like walking into a new Christmas card. Drop dead gorgeous. Not better/worse than other seasons, but certainly very different.
