Leslie gave me the best welcoming hug ever. Hopefully next time but this year I'll be riding DV back country roads the last weekend of the month. Link to comment

That is just a little too uncomfortable for me. dc Actually I would expect very little of your time to be spent riding in Beatty. The coldest part last year was riding past Edwards in the early morn at around 35F, and that was in jeans with the riding pants stowed. Other than that it was fine. DV was awesome in the 60's, except at the elevated lookouts, and forecasts show similar for this year. Btw I have wised up and ditched the jeans for full time riding pants. Link to comment

I'm not saying you won't get fed off the menu but I need to give a realistic count tomorrow. The owners have to hitch up the horses and head into town to buy our steaks. 10 day forecast calls for high 60's in the valley. It's gonna be awesome!! Link to comment

(The horror, the horror!) Jacqueline is pretty sick, but starting to get better. However, the ride down would be a bit much, AND there are many dirt places I want to explore, so 4WD it is! He told me that if a stress fracture is confirmed, no riding for me. I'm not sure at this point how this will affect my DVD plans. Link to comment

Ok, update: Sharon and I will be in the truck and are no longer planning to go to Phoenix at all (where our bikes are hanging out). We leave from Cedar City, UT tomorrow afternoon. No set route. No set schedule. Might peer into the Kolob Canyons if the urge strikes, or perhaps Valley of Fire. We'll be in Beatty Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Looking forward to seeing everyone, and to seeing some parts of the park in the truck that we have been missing on the bikes. Link to comment
