BeniciaRT_GT
Yeah right Richard. I have a hard time believing you'd ride around in 1st gear all day just to be part of the "smell the roses tour". Besides, this ride is for noho's (non-hooners) and your face pops up (Glenno's as well) when I google "hooners" so you'd better plan on hanging out with the other valentiners while my group does yoga and starbucks followed by a peaceful and serene tour of the park. I am SO offended by your comments. I ride like the proverbial "little old lady" and can't belive you would say otherwise! Since every time I try to put an image in my post, it doesn't work, I attached a pic just for you Todd!!! Humph!!! Link to comment
KMG_365
Richard, that photo is just a testament to either the fact that your shocks are shot, you really did need that diet or your cornering technique could use some work! BTW, could we please move the "excited chatter" over to the "excited chatter" thread just created for that purpose before this thread gets so big it starts leaving pieces of Tupperware paint on the road? Thanks! ( . . . you know I love you, buddy! ) Link to comment

Thanks! ( . . . you know I love you, buddy! ) Yes, I agree with the move...I replied to Todd on the other thread, but some kind of Twilight Zone thing happened and it ended up here. I'm ignorant as to how to move it!!! It does scrape with New Ohlins on (less often) and I hang off quite a bit to the inside, so I just get it over too far, and I'm too damn heavy!!! Joe G
Jamie, I was remembering our conversation about the Devil's Golf Course down in the valley and what it's like during a full Moon. Well, guess what? The full Moon is Saturday, January 14th, and it rises at 5:08 PM, so it should be rather dramatic down on the valley floor about 8 PM or so. It is scheduled to be directly overhead at around 2 AM. I know that this means missing Jack Reeves(!), but sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do. I guess this means I need to pack some warm clothes to walk around in down at -282 feet. Link to comment
Beagler
IN !! Will be coming from Sacramento, any suggestions on the best route? Also the best alternate route in case of bad weather over the passes? I have an electric vest, socks and heated grips so cold isn't a problem but want to avoid icey roads. Also anyone passing near Sacramento that would like to meet up for the ride let me know. Link to comment
flyingreg
IN !! Will be coming from Sacramento, any suggestions on the best route? If 80 is snowy, then option #1 is, head south to CA178 @ Bakersfield, take 178 east until you are at the junction of 178 & CA190, turn south on 190 and continue to the junction of CA127 (you will pass through Death Valley), turn north on 127 and you are 7 miles from the Longstreet. Or, option #2, head south and take CA58 to the 15 until you reach Baker, then head north on CA127. CA127 will take you directly to the Longstreet. Option #2 is all slab, blah! I will be traveling one of these routes myself (route depends on weather, the 178 route is much preferred) and you are welcome to join me. Link to comment

I have friends in Shoshone, and Tecopa where I'll be staying during this time frame. It's only about a 45 minute ride over to the Long Street Casino, I plan on riding over to join the group. It should be allot of fun and good riding, see you all there. Robert Link to comment

pdegnan
Jamie, I count 47, but what's one or two pillions more or less....? I do count 32 rooms, but I think there is an attendee or two who are not staying at the Longstreet, so that could also be in error. Either way, we have another twenty-some-odd rooms left to occupy, so I suggest those "on-the-fence" or "MIAA" get off their butts and make reservations. Who knows, there may even be a mini-suite or two left! Great response so far - I just need us to get up over 50 rooms, if possible, so I can put the hammer down on them to arrange our arrival get-together the way we like it! Link to comment
