johnlt
The manual says 90 weight gear oil but was wondering if some of the new synthetic like 75-90 ir 75-140 would be ok. Comments? Link to comment
Paul Mihalka
The most common oil used was 80-90 dino. Airheads were much less susceptible to gear box/final drive failures than the current bikes (sad). I would suggest synthetic only if you want some weight saving in your wallet. Link to comment

StuGotz
Don't wanna turn this into an oil (or lube) debate, but suffice to say with regular changes, 80-90 is good enough... 100k+ on airheads, no issues. MB> Link to comment
