Leggman1
I have a 1978 R100 RS and sometimes (not always) The headlight will not come on unless I hold down the selector switch to the flash mode. It has happened to me twice in the last week and I am suspecting the headlight relay. Other than that the bike runs great. The first time it happened the headlight finally came on halfway home from work but last night I had to hold the switch down all the way home. Anybody out there with the same problem? Thanks in advance... Dave Link to comment
StuGotz
Hello Leggman I suspect your problem might be the handlebar switch. Jump the wires for verification. MB> Link to comment
Leggman1
Ye are truly wise in the ways of science. I tested it and it is the switch. Does anyone know if they are repairable. I really don't want to par 189.00 for a new one. It is just a switch. Thanks again... Dave Link to comment

Paul Mihalka
Max BMW R100RS left handlebar switch: between $102 and $175, I don't know which one is the correct one. Click on electrical systems and you'll find it. http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=51647&rnd=03192010 Link to comment
