hi, i recently acquired a 2002 r1150rt; thanks for all of the great info here. i am having some trouble searching for a good tank bag, as the site search for "best tank bag" yields >50 pages of results.

so, what do you recommend for a full-sized (big) tank bag for the 1150?

thanks in advance,

pat

I got the Beemer tank bag from the dealer. If I filled it to capacity it would really be huge, but I can't imagine using all that room... 2 main compartments, a thinner zipper pocket on top, and a clear map case.. came w/ a rain cover too. Pricey, but it works.

Just curious, but did you come by the '02 R1150RT by searching for "Best Sport Touring Bike"?

Doing a google search for BMW tankbag will bring up a bunch of diffrent vendors or do a search here on the forum that will provide you with some more ideas.

Hi and welcome to the asylum!

In tank bags my choice by far is the SW-Motech quick release bag sold by Twisted Throttle. You mount a ring to the bolts of the gas cap and the bag attaches to this ring. No straps, hooks or Velcro. Easiest to get to the gas cap for fill-up. They come in different sizes.

Big Mac is very popular. Different sizes; I like the way it flips up out of the way for filling gas.
