New NCR M16 MotoGP Streetfighter made to compete with the BMW S1000RR

It's got such radical lines, it joins the "so ugly it's pretty" club, I think. But it looks like they couldn't lift the bars, probably because the only way to control all that power and torque is to keep rider weight down over the front. A nice museum piece, but I don't think I'd want to ride one. I'm still waiting for the inevitable RSV4 Tuono.

It's close. There have been a few track sightings (with the fairing disguised) as the test riders work out the handling. I'd be amazed if we didn't see a formal release at Milan.

ok, I took a closer look at the M16 pictures. There is some seriously pretty work in there. That subframe and tailpiece is a seriously pretty piece of carbon fiber craftsmanship.

Don't say that! I just wrote the tax man a big ol' check a couple weeks back.

Well if we get 100 riders to chip in 1000 dollars each plus $$$ for insurance and tires, etc. it could stay at my house and buyin members can time share it. Really it's no trouble at all. The garage cats will keep the mice off of it.

Here's a little slide show from their website: http://www.ncrfactory.com/

This one may end up being the most expensive production motorcycle ever made.

I'll guess it'll be around $100,000.00 USD, what's your guess?

I believe it said in the article that the asking price is 135000 Euro

After Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt buy theirs, the price will come down.

Heck, the Desmosedicci isn't even fetching $72,500 any more. The last one available has been donated to auction. After you pay the $7K in taxes, the $1500 for CA tags, the 30% ($21K) in untaxed income, you're out nearly $30K. A tough investment to make for a bike that "might" bring $40 or $50K if it's new and never ridden.

The NCR is a beautiful piece of work. But these things, even to a limited market, are probably a tough sell in this economy.

 $100K

The price is reported to be 135K Euro and that still requires a Desmodiecci doner bike. Call it $250K

WOW...Unbelievable!

Such a deal at ONLY TEN TIMES the cost of the RR!!!!!!

Only an idiot (a wealthy one) would be suckered into this thing. I bet the clutch still sounds like its ready to explode any second.

I know lots of people who would say the same thing about folks who would pay for a new R1200RT. It's all relative.

If I had that kind of disposable income, I'd have one in about half a heartbeat.

I'm surprised you didn't know that. I've seen a few reports and spy photos from the track tests...and I haven't even been looking, really. It just shows up in my RSS feeds from time to time.
