RTS
I have a neighbor that needs a fuel pump for his '89 FJ1200. A local dealer wants $500.00. Does anyone know of a good source for parts for an older Yamaha? Thanks! Link to comment
Lone_RT_rider
Rick, If I remember right, that pump on the FJ1200 is just a feeder pump (4 psi max) made to get the fuel to the carbs. Any HP inline pump from an automotive store that is the correct size for non-EFI applications should work for that. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Shawn Link to comment
RTS
Shawn, I do believe you are correct. It is an inline pump. Thanks for the reply! Rick Link to comment
upflying
When I was restoring a 1972 Honda CB450 15 years ago, I found parts priced similarly high at my local Honda dealer. I was told it was because it costs Honda money to store parts for obsolete bikes for many decades. The high price was Honda's way of recouping their losses and taking advantage of restorers. tallman
I hope your neighbor is successful at getting the bike on the road for a nominal sum. Can't have too many classics running around. Link to comment
