johnlt
I'm ordering a new set of tires for my recently purchases R80RT. I can find the size ok but can't tell if it takes tubeless or tube type tires. The wheels are alloy so I am hoping it takes tubeless tires. Any info would be appreciated. Link to comment
JimD
What year model R80 do you have? Up thru 1984 the rims are alloy, but not tubeless. Most tires you buy now are tubeless style, but will still use tubes if necessary. Jim Link to comment
Paul Mihalka
The wheel is designed to use a tube in it. The edges on the rim where the bead sits do not have the shoulder that prevents the low pressure tire to pop off the rim. That non-withstanding, On my '82 R100 I fitted metal valve stems and used tubeless. Not a recommendation, just saying that I did. Link to comment
