Albert
I've had an ongoing Autocom/Escort battle but I think I've arrived at a potential solution. See if this seems crazy (well just accept that it is an move on). I have an Autocom Active duo all wired in and functioning. The rider/passenger communication is good as is cell phone connection. But getting everything else to play nice is a hassle. I recently remembered having a nearly new Mixit 2 unit and that got me thinking. Could these two units be combined to accomplish my fiendish plot of electronic unification and domination? My diabolical scheme is to mount the Mixit 2 in the glove box (bike powered) and run the Garmin, Escort and Ipod into that. The Mixit has a priority mono plug that will allow music and gps cutoff when radar warning sounds (which I wanted). Then I can run a single stereo lead to the Autocom for all accessories. This will still allow the cell phone and rider passenger com to overide everything else. According to Mixit their unit is completely isolated and doesn't need anything extra to prevent ground looping. This should work unitl something else, like an audio tire pressure monitor or nuclear early warning beeper becomes necessary, at which time I'm prepared to buy a Scala or Chatterbox to round out my collection. This setup may also allow me to cook hot dogs in my tank bag as a bonus. Link to comment
