jbr7t
So, i've had the idea for awhile but lately it has been more and more on my mind. I figure it is probably going to take some serious planning so might as well get started and see what I can make of it. For many years I have put time and effort into raising money for Multiple Sclerosis research. My grandmother and great aunt are MS patients and my uncle passed a couple years ago from complications from MS. I started doing fundraising for research in middle school with my boy scout troop. Since then I participate in a 2 day 150 mile bicycle ride fundraiser each year as well as some other events that the MS Society puts together. For several years I've been trying to think of ways to incorporate motorcycling with the fundraising. I've thought of putting together some big ride event or doing some sort of crazy mileage (like a coast to coast to coast or something) etc etc. I want to push ahead with something so I figured where better to look for ideas and advice. Does anybody have experience with something of this nature or ideas / input of something AWESOME to do??? Link to comment
jbr7t
I'd start here Thanks Matt! definetely looks like some potential there. Link to comment
TEWKS
I led a ride to Vermont for some BBQ to raise money for our local heroes. The shorter ride drew a bigger crowd at twenty bucks a head. If you're talking about a sponsored ride event then look up KTsRidin, bet she could help. Personally, I'd go with the James needs a new bike charity! Pat Link to comment
jbr7t
you may gladly donate to the James needs a new bike charity. We'll make OoPEZoO the Chairman and TEWKS the Treasurer. Wonder if we can get 501(3)c status? Incorporating the food probably a good idea. Maybe I can talk a restaurant into donating or doing a special group price. There used to be a retired guy in the area that would bring his grill trailer to fundraising events. He's cook all day and only asked for payment to cover the cost of the condiments and plasticware used. Link to comment
jbr7t
Has anyone participated in any charity rides that they thought were really GREAT? or BAD? What sort of things would you change to make it a bigger success Link to comment
