tpfeffer
My 1983 R100RS has stainless steel braided front brake lines. I noticed yesterday that one of the aluminum ferrules is cracked that attaches the braided brake line to the metal tubing that connects to the calipher. I am glad I caught it because it would certainly have ruined my day if that ferrule popped off during hard braking. Bottom line is that I need to replace one line. They were on the bike when I bought it used. The existing are 12 inches long and have a female threaded connection on each end. From recollection, the female thread is about 10 mm dia x 1.0 mm pitch. The existing ferrules are annodized red. Any good sources for such lines? Options are to replace both sides either with SS or back to the OEM rubber hose. Any suggestions?
