Manual setting for ESA rear shock?

The ESA system on '05 R1200RT has failed. I suspect it was NG when I picked bike up last fall with 8K miles, just didn't know any better. Oh well still love the bike 15K now. My question is can the preload be adjusted manually. I take long road trips 2 up every year. I'm 220lbs and passengers are 90-120 lbs. Thanks in advance.

There is no manual adjustment for the shock that I can see.

See if the dealer can re-program the shock and get it working. If that doesn't help but the motor still works you can adjust it by feeding 12+ and ground to the motor as he did ----> http://bmwsporttouring.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=594160&page=2
