Bologna
Official site for the TT. http://www.iomtt.com/ Link to comment
David13
It's easy to find the website. What's hard to find, or impossible, is tv coverage. Looks like HD Theater will begin on August 2. Once a week. dc Link to comment

David13
Jim I saw that. But the only thing I get "live" is the line up of results. Like that shown on the screen in the photo. Not any tv. Discovery does not begin until August 2, as far as I can tell. Discovery owns HD Theater which is where they have again been playing the tapes from 2009 race. It's just one hour of highlights. Am I missing something here? Is there tv on the website? Or is the only live thing the lineup/standings? dc Link to comment

pickersgill1
Sad news Re: New Zealand's Dobbs killed at TT Only watching him of the tv coverage early in the week over here, popular guy. Link to comment
longjohn
A frightening stat: More than 200 racers have died on the road course on the Isle of Man, located in the Irish Sea, since the first TT race was first staged over a century ago. Link to comment
David13
John, 200 in over 100 years, that's nothing. More people than that are killed on US roads every week. Probably more than 3 times as many in an ordinary week. dc Link to comment
longjohn
I think it would be more useful to learn the death rates at other racing locations. Maybe the lsle of Man has the lowest death rate, but it just seemed to be a high number to me upon first hearing it. Link to comment
David13
I don't know that it's low compared to other racing venues. But it's so totally different than other racing venues. Basically, it's 37 miles of ordinary English type roads. Some urban, some rural. 2 lane. With walls, and buildings etc. Compare that to Laguna Seca, or Watkins Glen, or Willow Springs. Which are totally isolated tracks with open spaces. And which do regularly (or sometimes) have fatalities. California Speedway (Fontana) has had fatalities. I don't know if anyone ever looked at that type of comparison. Guy Martin just crashed, as did Conor Cummins. I think they both are all right, well, broken bones. But will survive. And I haven't heard of any deaths this year, even tho' thousands of tourists get out there between the races. dc Link to comment
