KevinRT
I think my first post to this forum last fall when I bought my 08 RT was about the difficulty of reading the instruments, particularly the centre display. While riding, instead of seeing the display, I saw my own reflection (striking as it may be ). This was worse when the sun was ahead of me. If the sun shines on the display, no problems. Someone (sorry, I forget who) suggested that he was going to try Clear Cal and report back. Never saw that report but I decided to go for it and installed a piece over the centre display. I must say that it was a huge improvement with the Clear Cal but not perfect. I wear standard sunglasses when riding and while I could read the display, it was not as clear as the rider display on my oilhead RT, but I did not have to duck down and get my nose practically right up against it like before. Well worth the few bucks and the few minutes to install. I cut mine in a shape of 2.5" across the top, 2.75" across the bottom, and 3" high to match the display area. Blends in very nicely. I have tried it only once and have not yet tried it at night or with polarized sunglasses. (Not that I recommend polarized sunglasses for riding). I don't anticipate any problems though. I washed the bike with it on as well and while I didn't get it real wet, what water did get on it didn't seem to bother it. Clear Cal available here: http://www.radtech.us/Products/ClearCal-Displays.aspx among other places, I'm sure. Ride safe but take chances. Link to comment
