After a long year, my daughter Tori and her boat were the long shots at States this last weekend. They were expected by many to finish 3rd at best. Well here they are at the 1000m mark, 1st from the left, walking away from the field!

Needless to say, we're all so proud of her and the girls.

Regional championships are in 2 weeks and the hopefully Nationals in June! And for all you Longhorn fans, she's hoping to cox for Texas when she graduates...in two years! Yep, she's only a Sophomore!

Now I can finally start riding my motor again!

Congrats to your daughter and you

My show and tell, here is a shot of my nephew in Athens after being part of the first men’s 8 to win Olympic gold for the USA in 40 years. He is the little one in the middle, he is only 6’-5” tall.

rad, that's phenomenal!!!! What an achievement!!! Does he live anywhere close to Florida???

Nope, California boy, rowed for the same club, I think?, as Green RT's kids, Pacific Rowing Club in SF. He then went to the University of Washington where he crewed, then on to the Olympic team where he trained at Princeton.

It is a great sport

A cool shot right after they won

Rad,

Do you know when your nephew rowed for PRC? He probably was quite a bit later than my kids but I thought I would check.

Mmmmmm, done for about 2 years, 2 Olympic runs, 8 years, 4 years college, I would guess he ended with PRC about 14 or 15 years ago.
