Not So Routine Oil Change

Changed the oil & filter today in the

R11R. Had a major problem using Purolator 0241 filter.

 

The filter screwed right on, but the gasket material on this particular filter was way too thin, comparing it to the OEM filter, causing it to leak.

 

I finally bought a Bosch 3330 and, comparing to the OEM filter, has about the same thickness of gasket material. Screwed it on_____no leaks this time.

 

I liked the extra length of the 0241 Purolator but won't buy another one after this experience.
