twowheelsonly
Hi I know I should have a manual but I don't, I checked mt alternator belt, looks very good, no cracks and still adjusted OK and it has 26K miles, I got the wiring kit for the replacement of the 4 sensor wires but don't see the plate, is it underneath the fan pully? Also considering cutting the fan cover in 1/2 where is the right place to do so? Thanks!!! Stewart twowheelsonly Link to comment
philbytx
IMHO, replace your belt if its the original and/or it has 26k on it. It is cheap insurance and the HES is behind the bottom pulley. Go HERE to download a free manual for your bike Link to comment
twowheelsonly
Hi Thanks for the tip on the manual! Got the nut for the bottom pully off and see the HES bracket, I will mark the bolts on the plate for reference, where does the wire go to?? I see a wire running towards the back over the top of the motor, do I have to remove the gas tank?? I hope not. Thanks Stewart Link to comment
philbytx
You will need to scribe the plate position (along the edges) to ensure proper refitting! Yup! Tank needs to be moved. connector is strapped to the RH down tube. Not a big deal to get the tank off...unless its full of fuel ! A good chance to clean up underneath...... Link to comment
