WaywardSon
Bike is a '96 with about 64,000 miles. Been running fine & went on a 100 mile ride this morning without problems, except...under hard acceleration the bike had a slight stutter at 4K rpm and a worse stutter at 5K rpm. It would pull through that and continue to run normally. Problem was there regardless of gear selection & as I was in a rural area, I ran it through the gears several times. While the problem was always there, it would pull through it and run up to 120+ mph. Several times. I get home and the bike sits for an hour. Get on it & it starts normally but only ran for about 50 yards at which point it just quit and refuses to start. Weather is clear & dry. Any thoughts? Link to comment

WaywardSon
Thanks for the responses. Once I got back home and was able to look at it, I realized that I wasn't hearing the fuel pump when I turned on the key. Pulled the seat and sure enough, was able to push that relay down a bit. Voila! Started and ran for a minute, but didn't have time to ride. The relay seats tightly, contacts are clean & there is no sign of arcing on any of the terminals. How in the world does something like that work it's way UP? I will have to try and take the bike out tomorrow and see if the "stutter" is still there. Anybody know a good source for the Siemens relay? Link to comment
