Valve Clicking

Recommended Posts

Are the valves suppose to click on cool morning right after starting the engine? The clicking kind of comes and goes for a minute or two. Almost sounds like hydralic lifters that don't pump up. Other than that, the bike is awesome!

2010 R1200RT with 1090 miles - had the 600 miles service at 812 miles.

PS: I know the BMW does not have hydralic lifters. :)

Sounds like a major problem. I think you should leave it with me for a couple of months to evaluate. I have a couple of long rides planned for this month and June. I'll know more after that.

In all seriousness, I don't think it's a big deal. Although others with much more mechanical experience than me will probably weigh in with better insight.

Congratulations on the new bike.

You forgot to include your shipping address. I will not include my shipping adress back just in case the bike is no good. You can keep it for parts or whatever. You might have a need for the light bulbs since they are fairly new. Maybe the seat also - it's electric.

In any case, thanks!

Indeed, congrats on the new bike. And sorry for my bit of a thread hijakc but I forgot to mention that in my previous state of mind elsewhere, here, somewhere... yesterday??? No matter. My RT has been a great bike. I'm sure yours will too. Love it, live it, ride it, don't bother cleaning it too much as it takes away from seat time. Enjoy!
