Joe Frickin' Friday
When a doctor doctors another doctor, does the doctoring doctor doctor the doctored doctor the way the doctored doctor wants to be doctored, or does the doctoring doctor doctor the doctored doctor the way the doctoring doctor wants to doctor the doctored doctor? Mike
When a doctor doctors another doctor, does the doctoring doctor doctor the doctored doctor the way the doctored doctor wants to be doctored, or does the doctoring doctor doctor the doctored doctor the way the doctoring doctor wants to doctor the doctored doctor? I've often pondered that exact question. Actually, docs I've known who have had to go to other docs for treatment generally appear to defer entirely to the treating doctor. I suppose that's because if they were capable of treating themselves they would do so, and they choose colleagues in whom they have a high degree of trust. Link to comment

Paul Mihalka
To paraphrase a lawyer saying: I think if a doctor is his own doctor, he has a fool for a patient. Link to comment
tallman
No. Be patient. A doctor seeing a doctor, to be doctorerd, is no longer a doctor so the doctor he's seeing isn't seeing a doctor at all. Link to comment
yabadabapal
It depends. If the doctoring doctor has patience he may treat the doctored doctor with some compassion towards the doctored doctors request. But if the doctoring doctor has patients, he may not have the patience to be patient with the doctored doctor. Link to comment
