UKTN
Is there anything special about the valve stems for a 1994 R1100RS? Can I get them from any motorcycle dealer or only a BMW dealer? Would it be better to put the metal stems on? Link to comment
mikeR1100R
I prefer metal valve stems. They are cheap enough. What prompted me to switch to them was a rather scary story by someone on this board. Search "valve stem failure" to see it. If you have the 3 spoke alloy wheels, you can get the metal stems for the 0.453" rim hole from www.alltiresupply.com/p-44-588.html Sorry I couldn't seem to get a direct link posted. I got the straight stems, part # 44-188. They were $11.09 for a box of 10 plus shipping. Hmm. Previewing my post it appears I may have gotten the link posted. Anyway, good luck. Link to comment
Edgar
If you google TR412 you'll find the stem you need. Your best bet is the auto industry. Link to comment
UKTN
I have an 1100 rs did you have to "modify" the rim. Thank you for the link it always amazes me I do a search and nothing comes up or theres just so many items! Link to comment
philbytx
On both bikes, I simply use the "stubby" rubber valve stems with metal caps. No issues in thousands of miles of riding. Link to comment
mikeR1100R
No modification needed. Just bolted right on. Link to comment
