UKTN
I need to change both the front and back tiers on my 94 R1100rs I have a Sears motorcycle lift which I was going to use to lift and support the bike but I think I read somewhere not to use it as the engine is not designed to support the weight of the bike. Is this true? Link to comment
dan cata
Why not use the centerstand, a piece of wood to support the shaft drive housing and another one to support one of the fork tubes? If you do so, just loosen all the bolts prior to removing anything, not to get the bike off the centerstand. Link to comment
Danny caddyshack Noonan
I take the side cases off for access and leave the top box on. Then, I put a weight (25 lb'ish) in the top box to keep the bike back heavy. Pull the front tire, do the piece of wood on the back to keep it from dropping (or a low jackstand) and pull the rear. Richard_D
I looked in the owners manual and could not find a tier. Link to comment

trailbuster530
I just changed both tires on my bike...yet again. I pull the rear off first and put a block under it. I then add the cases onto the bike and watch it tip back onto the block. Once the weight is off of the front I remove the front tire and put blocks under the forks so that there is 3 or so inches between the forks and the blocks. When I put them back on I just reverse the order and put the fronts on first then the rear. Has always worked great for me. Good luck and enjoy the new tread Link to comment
