LeftCoastMan
I took everyone's advice and bought a new Odyssey PC680 12v Battery. My BMW battery is about 4 years old, and thought it worked well, I noticed that starting wasn't as smooth as it had been a couple of years ago. I'll jump to the end of the story, and say WOW. Out freaking standing. The bike just starts like brand new. I'm impressed with this. Here some observations on installation: 1. My battery did not come with L-brackets, so I thought I could install it and use the bolts into the battery terminals to hold all of the connections. The problem is that the main wires from the battery to the bike have an L-bend which make it very difficult to connect to the battery. So, I bought a couple of L-brackets. 2. I connected my two accessories (Bushtech trailer and electrified tank bag) directly to the battery bolts along with the L-bracket. I then connected the bikes power leads to the L-bracket. It's kind of neat and clean. 3. The Odyssey battery is a bit smaller than the OEM battery. I took someone's suggestion and just wedged two small pieces of braided tubing under the battery bracket to hold it in place. This was a nice investment. So, I have new tires, new battery, new windshield, new seat, new HID lights, and new electrified tank bag. It's like a new bike, right? Link to comment

I kind a miss that little guy..!!!! You're in Australia, so this might not make much sense. The little stuffed thing is Otto the Orange. Well, the mean version of it. It's the mascot of Syracuse University, also known as the Orange. Every spring, top colleges play in a basketball tournament that places 65 college teams in a single elimination tournament, crowning a winner next week. Syracuse University is one of the top basketball programs in the US, and was one of the top 4 teams in the country. This week they were upset by some tiny college in an irrelevant part of the country. In protest, I dropped the mascot. It is punishment for my alma mater losing this game. Link to comment

How interesting . is this permanent or just a temporary chastisement. I went to Cornell, in Ithaca, not far fromSyracuse. Used to go there to shop. remember standing with a lot of other people there in the parking lot ( like tens of thousands of people) listening to Hillary campaign for the senate. A remarkable orator IMHO. Lovely part of the world. I went back for summer school after 9/11 and will never forget the flags etc. Patriotism to the max. Very moving. . Ithaca's main sport , IMO, was chasing the girls from the music school on the other hill. Some great restaurants. even a bar run by an australian. Loved that part of the world. No matter how your team played, I preferred the old YOU ( at least the avatar) regards Paul Link to comment

When I was in grad school at Syracuse, we used to drive down to Cornell to attend lectures by Carl Sagan. And chase girls. There was an all women's school up Seneca Lake called Wells College. Lots of cute girls. My transportation of choice when I was in school was a Yamaha 650. When I got stressed out, I would take a long ride around the Finger Lakes. I'll bring back the avatar when I forgive Syracuse for losing AGAIN. Link to comment
