moshe_levy
Anyone have one of these, or heard one? I can't find a sample anywhere. I'm curious because it's advertised as actually being quieter than stock, though I'm sure the sound quality is nice, judging from other Staintune pipes I've heard over the years. -MKL Link to comment
mistral
I have one on my 2007 RT. I run it with the silencer out. It is as quiet as stock with it in. Ron Link to comment
moshe_levy
Ron- How would you compare the tone to stock? The sound? -MKL Link to comment
chaparral
Checkout Epcostainless.com I got a stainless from them and it sounds like a early truimph 650. Nice and mellow and ~ 12lbs lighter and looks better than the tincan ones/ my .%02 Link to comment
moshe_levy
I have Epcos on my R100S - not what I'm looking for here. I was specifically interested in the Staintune. -MKL Link to comment
onedae
I had one on my 09 RT before I sold the bike. With the baffle in, it is about the same as stock - maybe even a bit quieter - but a deeper, slightly throaty tone. With the baffle out, it is louder than stock - but not that much - and significantly deeper and throatier. Its very personal, but I think Staintune is the best choice for an RT if you wnat a bit more sound with a better tone to it. It is also a beautifully manaufactured pipe and look great on the current RT models. Link to comment

If you get off the gas it is pretty quiet. Ron Link to comment
BobsST
A friend put Staintune on his GS. Sounded like fart noise with the baffle in - much better with it out!! I recently went with a Remus Hexacone on my ST. Happy with the deep tone and it really didn't make much of a change with the baffle out. Link to comment
IanW
I have the Staintune slip on, it is quieter than stock with the baffel in but a much better sound, with the baffel out it is louder but not too loud, it is still legal in Australia with the baffel out. Ian Link to comment
