russell_bynum
No comments? BMW is going superbike racing in America and nobody here has anything to say about it? What if I said I heard Chris was running Synthetic oil before the end of the break-in period, and was debating about which CeeBailey windscreen to install...the +3 or the +5? Link to comment

Dave in Doodah
Ha! Enjoy, Russ. I hope they do well - Chris sounds very happy with the bike and team (must be the oil). Link to comment

bmwmick
It's going to be on SPEED both Sat and Sun, tape delay. Sat 7-8pm Sun 9-10pm It's not 'actually' BMW going racing, it's Iron Horse BMW in Tucson doing a little experiment to see if he can get BMW to throw in some sponsorship. Right now, it's all small sponsors. Sure hope Chris does well. Kid is fast! Mick Tucson Link to comment
Traveler
Hey! What do you mean by "Fontucky"? Link to comment
jaytee
Hey! What do you mean by "Fontucky"? Here in SoCal, Fontana (a city in the inland empire about 40-50 miles from the coast) is sometimes referred to derisively as "Fontucky" because it is one of the few areas here with a Nascar track and a concentration of poorer, conservative, rural white folk. Since SoCal people tend to be either liberal, non-white, rich, snobby or all four, they tend to look down on what is distressingly normal in many other parts of the country. JT Link to comment

But as a Libertarian, white, non-rich, non-snob, I just call it that because it's a funny name and it reminds me of Gleno, who always referred to Henderson, NV as Hendertucky. Link to comment
russell_bynum
http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2010/Mar/sp2/100326a.htm Looks like Chris put the BMW 13th in its first time on track. He's a good 3 seconds off the pace of the leaders, but if you look at where he is relative to the other privateer riders, he's not doing too bad. He'd be lapping me about every 6 laps. OTOH, Jake Holden put his privateer CBR1000RRR in 3rd...and he's only got one tire warmer. Link to comment
pbharvey
Isn't everyone a privateer now? Are there any factory teams left? Link to comment
CoarsegoldKid
I wish him and all the other racers well in their efforts to provide us with roadracing in USA. But there are only three steps on the podium. And of course I want to see a BMW on the grid and I don't expect that team to do as well as seasoned teams. Cheers to Iron Horse. Link to comment
russell_bynum
Mixed results...Chris crashed on the first lap of the race on Saturday. Sunday morning they were having issues with the shift assist. He finished up 11th in the 2nd race, though...so not too bad. Link to comment
