EffBee
Took a quick look to see if anyone had already posted this. Didn't see it. First, someone has too much time on their hands. Second, WHY? Third. $17,500? UGBFKM. Still, someone has bid $12K, so who knows? Linky Link to comment
Dennis Andress
Where's the oil cooler? Link to comment
mbelectric
Where's the oil cooler? I think it's located on the bottom of the frame downtubes, right where the rocks will get it.... I'm more curious as to how this EFI motor sounds without an airbox on the intake sides...the pulsing of the intakes HAS to make the boxer sound odd. MB> Link to comment

Paul Mihalka
I think it is interesting, unique, and nice work. I prefer it to a BMW chopper, of which there are a few. Link to comment
EffBee
I think it is interesting, unique, and nice work. I prefer it to a BMW chopper, of which there are a few. From the aspect of seeing if it can be done, I agree with you. It is a very interesting, and unique, exercise. The concept is good in keeping all things within the BMW family, and the mechanical intermarriage seems well conceived. However, creating something with the kind of acceleration and speed that engine is capable of, with the chassis and drum brakes of a /2, just doesn't make sense from a practical standpoint. And while I understand that "practical" takes a back seat to "what if" under these kinds of circumstances, $17K for a bike that has twice as much motor as brakes and handling, just doesn't ring my bell. It's one of those "own it to look at it" vs. "own it to ride it" scenarios, because I doubt anyone would want to go very far on it (although in their day /2's were ridden everywhere). But given modern convenience and performance, that price will get you a 1200RT or GS. Link to comment

Smoky
I'm loving it! Looks great, wonderful concept, I'm sure you have to keep the speed down, witht those brakes and that frame. But what a hoot to ride in a gentle manner, with an occasional burst of straight speed. I'll never have that kind of money for such a toy, but I'm glad to know it's out there. Link to comment
upflying
Does it surge and what about the spline lube? Link to comment
Paul Mihalka
Looks like it has /5 brakes, much better than /2 brakes - and much better than the single disk was on a Honda 750 - I know! Definitely better than a chopper with a hot motor and NO front brake! I know it is apples and oranges (Apple and PC?) but they are show bikes. Link to comment
moshe_levy
I spied this one at Rhinebeck in 2008 It's an R90/6 engine, but what you can't really see are the incredible brake upgrades, and other chassis tweaks. Really, people who can do this have my admiration. Look at the huge, funky driving lights mounted to the engine guard. The thing looked like it rolled out of the factory that way. -MKL Link to comment
