Sorry guys and gals.... on my FIRST *gasp!* ride out this year I forgot my camera out of pure excitement. That's my story and I'll stick to it!

Tried to start the RT after 3 months in freezing weather and heaps of snow only covered by a thin layer of plastic, and she started on second try last weekend.

And then it started raining.

After waking up this morning to yet another white world, frost covering the roofs and bike cover, the sun finally came out later today at last and I figured I'd better get my sorry behind off the office chair and onto the RT's stock seat!

Like skating and riding bicycles... once learned you never lose it. But it happened before that I had to not ride for a few weeks, and the first ride often was a bit 'odd'. Not this time! It all felt good right from the first corner and I had a wonderful little ride out to the next town to fill her up with cheap gas, then back through the polders and Monday afternoon rural traffic... wathcing geese, swans, windmills... and pot holes !!!

Oh yes, the roads have not been so bad in decades ! Obviously the 'road makers' have forgotten 'winters' as we used to have them, and their handywork is well below par currently.

There are many potholes, ruts between tow halves of the roads with gravel pouring out of the middle and gravel in many other unexpected places too.

Trick now is to stay well behind other traffic so as not to be surprised by large holes suddenly popping up from beneath the car in front of you !

Also stopped by my friend Pé who had three pupils doing their special maneuvers in order to get their pink 'A-card' soon and join us soon in the wonderful freedom of Spring riding!

They promise us another good day on Wednesday, and I'll try and remember to bring the Nikon along next time ! Promise!
