Carroll
I have a 2003 R1150rt and my grips need replaced. Has anyone replaced just the rubber grips on their heated grips. I checked the OEM grips and it looks like you have to buy the entire heated grip assembly. Can anyone suggest a good aftermarket replacement for the rubber grip. Link to comment
Ewell D.
Tennis racket re-gripping tape. Comes in many textures and thicknesses. I have a fairly thick one on my grips and have not noticed that it affects the heating of the grips. I went this route to try something thicker after the foam grip covers I bought ripped while installing them. Ewell Link to comment
tomk99r11
I have installed grip heater grids (not new grips with heat or the BMW heated grips) on my R1100 and then later removed the grips for replacement. Just took my time, used air and screw driver to work the grip loose. Worked fine. I can see though that you could damage the grid if you aren't careful. As for the tennis racket grip tape, I have that on my DL with the same heat grid mentioned above. Works fine and does not seem to affect the heat transfer. Good luck with whatever you end up with. Bronx Cheer
I put on some grip puppies. They are a real PIA to put on. Use lots of soapy water. Grip Puppy Link to comment
R1150RT_MLC_Response
I have used something like Grip Puppies but they were Harley accessories. Went on pretty easily, no soapy water or other lubricant required. About AUD$10. Inexpensive solution. Regards Ian Link to comment
