Fess Parker Passed away today

RIP Fess.

They usually go in three's.

RIP Fess.

In addition to D.C., Fess made a heck of a contribution to society, starring in the Orange County CA. court system's Juror introduction video. No telling how many folks saw him in that role over the years.

I have a picture somewhere of myself in a Davy Crockett outfit complete with coonskin cap and musket. It started my love of firearms and shooting that I still have to this day. When my Dad saw my interest he started me into shooting; hunting; fishing and camping out in the woods.

 

Interesting to learn that Fess got the attention of Walt Disney when Walt saw him in a bit part in the movie "Them".

 

Fess had a very interesting life. It appears as if he had a great time here.

 

You were one of my great heroes Fess! R.I.P.

My toy box contained a coonskin cap. as a kid, I loved reading the tales of Davy's encounters with Mike Fink

There's no doubt about it. He was well known all over the world.

Even we had TV in a small mining town in NZ in those days (be it b&W).

Never got me one of those coonskin caps but always wanted one.

I liked his axe throwing!

Me too... and somewhere I have an old photo of myself proudly wearing my Davy Crockett belt buckle! I'll have to dig that out.

 

Sad day for me, for sure. I loved "Disney" on Sunday nights.
