tsp
If you are like me you live 250 miles from the nearest dealer. And even if I was a bit closer, the closest dealer sold the last 2010 R1200RT from one day to the next, i.e., it would have been gone by the time I would have arrived at the dealership. Sooo.... could someone take a few pictures of the new RTs and post them so that we can have an idea what those new for 2010 colors really look like. The pictures in the BMW web site look like they are B&W! If the pictures you plan to take are outside in good lighting so much the better. Or if anybody knows where I can view some nice 2010 RT pictures (not the BMW web site) please share the information. Much thanks in advance, tsp Link to comment

tsp
Perhaps someone can point me to a site that shows the bike against a real backdrop. All the google sites I went to (about 20 to 30) just show the same pictures that BMW has on their ads. They all have a neutral gray type of background or a green type of ocean surf. I know they also have a few showing the bike two up but they too seem to doctored up. We need more sun, common objects around to compare to, no soft focus, etc. I even went to a Flickr site labeled 2010 BMW R1200RT photos and guess what? Yeah... same BMW corp photos! If I read everything correctly one of those bikes has a matt finish. But I can't tell which from the photos except that it is not the Polar colored one. Once again, I'm interested in the 2010 RT colors only. Just my 0.02 on the matter, tsp tons of non-BMW Motorad pics via Google image search. Link to comment

XTrooper
What's to see? Looking at the 2010 "colors" is like watching a black and white film. Irrespective of the background or shade, gray is gray. Honestly, I don't know what in hell BMW was thinking. Link to comment

I found a number of colors, some against natural backgrounds in 10 seconds. Just double checked. You need to type "R1200RT" and then search "images" not "web". On the Google search page you can find it in the upper left. If you have a Google toolbar it's in the drop down nest to the search. You also need to go beyond the firs page of images. Link to comment

Yes, if you like gray in its many forms...this is a great year. Link to comment

Chromie
I saw the Polar Metallic in person yesterday. The dealer described it at "robin egg blue" and I agree. That's the only color they had on the floor... Link to comment

But I can't tell which from the photos except that it is not the Polar colored one.[quote} The matt one you're thinking about is called Ostra Grey and it's actually more of a subtle bronze color. It looks good in the showroom but I worry that the matt finish will make the bike look dirty/dull, unless it is cleaned constantly. I ended up getting the Thunder Gray which is a dark gray with subtle sparkles in the sun, but looks black in the shade. I love the bike, but was disappointed that for this kind of money, I didn't have any real color choices. Except for the Polar metallic, which is not my cup of tea, the choices are gray, gray or gray with gray. Link to comment
