marcopolo
For the adventurous -- and well-heeled rider -- check out Edelweiss Bike Travel's extraordinary 248-day expedition. It runs from mid-November 2010 to the third week of July 2011. The trip covers 40,000 miles on five continents and can be had for a mere $101,000 USD ($27,000 surcharge if you want your own room). You must supply your own bike, as well as cover the costs of getting it (and yourself) to and from Austria (start/end point). You also must cover your flight costs between legs, e.g., LA to Australia. However, on the plus side, air freight costs for the bike between legs are included. OK, who's ready to sign up? http://www.edelweissbike.com/ Link to comment
moshe_levy
I was afraid to call and find out how much that cost. Wow! I like the Glen Heggstad philosophy of travel better. -MKL Link to comment
Deadboy
There are far worse ways to spend that kind of $$. I am always amazed at the kind of cash people spend on cars (for example) just to sit in traffic and impress people they will never meet. I would rather put it together myself and go where I wanted but still I am sure it would be an epic ride.... Link to comment
JR356
If you don't have the hundred plus large laying around,or the spare 8 months, you can ride with them on sections of the route for anywhere from $3k up. Sure sounds like the trip of a lifetime. Jr356 Link to comment

Chris K
I got an update e-mail from them a couple of weeks ago and it stated that they had 19 riders and 2 passengers signed up so far. I only need two things to go along, time and money! Link to comment
