Paul Mihalka
Paul, just out of curiosity, besides routine maintenance, what have you had to fix on the bike? The big one: clutch splines gone at 70K miles - nice enough to do it riding out from the house. Less big because it kept running even if running like $hit: one stick coil. Link to comment

Paul Mihalka
really cool! What other bikes made it? My over 100K bikes and their major breakdowns: '82 R100, 110K miles. One burnt exhaust valve. Took me home on one cylinder. Never on a trailer. '86 K75. 200K miles with me, over 240 before a guy crashed it. First K75 dealer received, so I was a early beta tester. Fuel pump relay. Bad connection where wiring goes into gas tank. Rear drive/drive shaft splines. All this in the first 100K. No hangups in second 100K. '92 K75RT, 130+K miles when totaled into a deer. Absolutely no problems. '99 R1100RT, 175K miles, sold 3 years ago, still running strong with second owner. Hall sensor at 80K, clutch splines at 100K, rear drive at 150K. Current '05 R1200GS, 100K miles. Clutch splines at 70K. Link to comment
Nice n Easy Rider
Paul, I congratulate you on this most recent achievement and although I think it's pretty impressive, I'm in total awe of the > 1 million miles you've logged on your beemers. Hope I'm around when you reach the 2 million mark. Link to comment
Paul Mihalka
Do you even own a car? Oh, yes. We go places with my wife (she stopped riding with me), We carry mulch and topsoil for her gardening, I need something when it is is snowy/icy. Out of my 30+K average yearly riding about 10K is commuting, the rest is pure motorcycle fun which I don't think I would do with a car. Link to comment

Albert
Way to go Paul. By the way, I was near your neck of the woods this past weekend. I was driving up I68 from Frederick to Keysers Ridge. Couldn't believe how much snow was still in the mountains. This week's weather looks like we may be able to get back to some regular commuting again soon. Link to comment
