Getting the new-to-me BGB2 (1100RT Boston Green Baby #2) in shape and properly farkled. Then a shakedown run around the Olympic Peninsula (about 400 miles). Then:

May -- Spring Torrey (this is a working ride as we'll be testing some new prototype products)

June -- Los Guajalotes "Ain't Goin' to Sturgis" Ride to John Day, OR, this year. Los Guajalotes (wild turkeys) is a bunch of current and former Motorcycle Rider Training State Administrators, some of whom I worked with during my days at MSF.

July -- UnRally

July -- BMW MOA Rally (another working ride as we'll be vending at the rally)

August -- Northern Montana (another working ride, testing final prototypes)

September -- Fall Torrey

That's it so far. Have I mentioned that I love my job?

I travel a lot for my job. I work for Texas Motor Speedway, and for the Performance Racing Network covering NASCAR races on the radio.

My riding plan this year is:

Talladega, AL in April

Kentucky in June

Bristol, TN in August - with plenty of spare time to ride all of the wonderful roads in the area.

Coarsegold

Heber,Chicken rally, ROK, Iowa, Pure Stodge, and Chief Josesph.

Lunatic Fringe, BMWMOA NAt, Wasington State rally

3Flags as a spectatator.

And the usual weekend rides of course. Don't want to loose the edge.

It's good to be retiereated.

You don't NEED a lot of time off. You would be amazed how much riding you can get in on a regular weekend....if you don't stop!

:D

Just think how much money you save by not renting a motel room!

I DO ride on weekends and to work.......I also live in nw Indiana, not known for prime riding(unless you like scenery that includes lots of corn!) I spend many weekends in Michigan where we have a camper. Nice 200 mile ride after working 10 hours.

No real plan..... just ride when the weather is good and ride as often and as much as is fun. Maybe the US in October even.

Easy to say, not so easy to do! Couple more years and I'll give it up.

Back in the olden days when I worked at a HD/BMW shop in Green Bay, Wisconsin, I had this Monday afternoon conversation.

Me to a couple of Beemer riders, "So what did you guys do for the weekend?"

Riders, "We went to Florida."

"You went to Florida for the weekend, only?"

"Yeah, we left after work on Friday afternoon, rolled back in this morning just in time to get to work."

At the time, I was stunned to think that these guys would actually do that much riding over a weekend.

I mapquested Green Bay to Pensacola:

Total Travel Estimate: 18 hours 8 minutes / 1117.47 miles

June 13 to July 8: my son and I will ride from Atlanta, GA to Phoenix, AZ, hook up with my brother and his crew and go ride the Colorado Rockies. I did this ride about 8 years ago, but it will be my son's 1st long distance trip. I am on a '00 RT and he is on a '07 F800ST. The ride is my gift to him for graduating high school. I took my oldest daughter on a similar ride for her graduatio and she loved it. He and I have done shorter trips, but this will be the Big Daddy for him.

And that's IF they took the direct route!

:D

My most "ambitious" ride was two years ago when I attended the Blitz to Branson. I managed to talk my "boss" into letting me have five days off (including S&S of course). Thisis what I did with that much free time. Four days of riding, one day of relaxin'. That event is coming up soon. I highly recommend it.

Later in that year I was able to talk myself into another day off so I went to the Top of the Rockies Rally. This is how I got the most out of that weekend. I wish I had spent an extra day. What a glorious rally!
