Ed S
I'm about to do my first oil change on my 09 R1200RT and I need torque specs for the Oil filter and drain plug? Does someone have the info readily available from the BMW Maintenance CD/DVD? (searched here but couldn't find it) Also, where is the best price's for a repair/maintenace cd/DVD. Thank you Link to comment
johnlt
I do it the old fashoned way. Oil filter, put a little clean oil on the rubber gasket and tighten it "snug plus a little". For the drain plug, with a new crush washer, "snug plus a little". With the old crush washer, "snug". Both using a normal handle 3/8 drive ratchet wrench. Link to comment
RT-Mike
I've read where the filter requires 11nm tightened, and the drain plug initial torq. at 23nm and the final torq. at 32nm. I'm getting ready to order this http://www.jimvonbaden.com/JVB_Productions.html Of course, the old fashioned way is the way I've always done it also Link to comment
