Caddis
We finally had some nice weather yesterday and went for a short afternoon ride to Red Rocks park in Morrison, CO. There are some trails through the area, and we took a short hike to look around. It is famous for its amphitheater that is built into the natural rock formations. If you look carefully, you can see Denver on the horizon. Just a quick outing, but it felt good to get out on the bikes again - finally. Link to comment

Caddis
They host concerts from many of the big names in the music industry. Another extremely popular event is an Easter sunrise service. Their web site is : http://www.redrocksonline.com Link to comment

VinnyR11
Nice pics! My wife and I knew about the Red Rocks amphitheater, but we didn't know we were right by it while on vacation. I can't remember the exact wording, but there was a big sign on the Interstate that I think read "Interesting Rock Formations", or something like that. It was such a general statement that it intrigued us and we turned around to visit it. Well worth the stop. Is that sign still there, and is the wording that I remember correct? Link to comment
Caddis
Well, that sign sounds familiar, and I'm sure I have seen it in the past. But we are hardly ever on the stretch of I-70 that goes by Morrison, so I actually don't know! I'll bet there is someone on this forum who does know, though. Link to comment
Rinkydink
Note to self: Remember to stop here on your way back from Yellowstone/Teton trip this summer... Link to comment
krussell
I stopped there two years ago while on a weekend break during a 4k mi ride from Portland. We borrowed by sister's convertible and took a ride up there on a nice sunny day. My favorite picture from the visit was this one. Link to comment
