David
Had a wonderful day of shooting in the Arizona desert today with Bob Palin and Janet Borg, Tom Neuman (our gracious host), Scott Adams, Jan and Sharon, and Howard Rush. Here are a few shots: Link to comment
beemerman2k
Beautiful! I would love to see more works from everyone who participated in today's session. I learn a lot by studying the work of others. Please, more more more!!! Link to comment

Couchrocket
I had such a great time just being with the people who were on this trip. Tom, you're a great host. Photography-wise, I also had fun, but not in the way I expected. It was fun watching us all hop out of the vehicles and "swarm" the location that had caught our eye! And the photos show amazing creativity and our different sensibilities as artists / photographers. Here's my contribution. Not hugely productive for me "in the desert" but a couple of images I like. And at the end of day two, we stopped in Ajo, CA and there was this church, and the day was late enough for the sweet light to develop, then... magic, IMO. Flowers along the Apache Trail: Desert cliffs and cacti, "Tears of the Oracle" - Organ Pipe National Monument: Organ Pipe National Monument - To the Far Horizon: Ajo - The Magic Hour: Ajo - Symmetry: Ajo - The Glow of Grace: Link to comment
David
Those Ajo shots are top 100, for sure. Really great. I also like the one in Organ Pipe, toward the horizon. It's weird how I didn't even see that shot that day. Link to comment

Many photographers don't fully understand how to handle spherical perspective, but your image above is masterful. Link to comment

David
Scott, I showed Julie the last three in your series and she was blown away. Me too, especially that last one. Link to comment
Couchrocket
Scott, I showed Julie the last three in your series and she was blown away. Me too, especially that last one. Thanks. Just proof that "light is everything." Same subject in earlier or later ligtht would just die on the vine. We were blessed to be there "right on time!" Did you notice the light changing quality very quickly even in the 15 minutes or so that we were there shooting? As someone once said, "F8 and be there!" Link to comment
doc47
Lovely stuff!! Thanks. Scott, those architectural shots are first-class. Great eye! Link to comment
Couchrocket
Thinking back to the comic book westerns of my youth, and trying to leverage the "High Noon" light we had, I decided to take a whack at two very non-literal renderings of the desert landscape from this trip. It is OK to hate them! LOL Many photographers get nervous when it starts to become "mixed media." I "think" I like them . . . Link to comment
Couchrocket
OK, I know you were all napping when the strom rolled through on our first stop along the Apache Trail. It took my little waterfall / cacti / cliff shot, and made the side light look much better than that ugly clear blue sky that came back after the storm. OK, OK, so I cheated . . . Link to comment
