I missed our UN in this area. Not sure but I think it was UN 4. Anyway I want to go ride that area. not a long drive from Atlanta. Are there annual local rally's in that area? maybe one someone might recommend. basic plan is to leave after work (trailering bike) on a wed night, get there early thurs morning. ride thurs, fri, & sat. load bike backup and drive back sunday. looking for something other than just going to that area by myself.

Hi Randy!

Check this out. May 15th is the organized ride day - 500 miles in one stretch all twisties.

As an alternative to Hot Springs, consider Mountain View. Quaint place with music on the town square, in the park and on the porches of B&B's. Local folk singers just holding court. It's a lot of fun and a step back in time.

A friend and I stayed in two bedrom cabin here. Price was right and it was clean as a pin ... easy waling distance to food and entertainment around the town square.

The rides in this area are spectacular and in a couple of days you can ride Push Mountain, the Arkansas Dragon, Copperhead, and lots of Rt16 ... I'll be glad to send you some gps stuff if you want but the Twisty Butt Assoc. link has most of the same runs.

Yeeha! Stephen

The Dallas and the Ft Worth Clubs both have a Fall ride up to Eureka Springs every year. Usually the end of Oct and/or the first of Nov.

Otherwise, we hit and miss up there some, later in the Spring.

Given enough advance notice, I'll bet we could gather enough DFW folks to make it look like a Rally.

I know I was talking with some of the guys the other day and we were itching to get back to Ark.

May or early June is what we were tossing around.

Want me to keep you in the loop?

Pick a weekend.

Pick a place.

Post pix of the area.

Start your own Rally.

I bet you could get a dozen folks from this board to show up just about anywhere.

???????????????

google maps shows about 13 hours. so leave work on Wed night say around 5pm, long drive out of atlanta with rush hour traffic, but head out I-20 to birmingham, then up to memphis. probably closer to 15 hours with atlanta rush hour traffic. so maybe go until about 1am, then get up Thursday morning and arrive around Noon. get a little ride in, then friday some riding, all day saturday for the "rally" and head home early sunday morning arriving back around 7pm. Thanks for the link, looks interesting, and doable.
