Richard_D
use your key in the back of the bike under the luggage rack. Link to comment
flat_twin
Under the tail light you'll find a lock. Use your ignition key and the rear seat will release. You'll figure it out from there. Oh, if ever you cannot find your ignition key, check under the tail light. DAMHIK! Link to comment

I can't recall how long I went in circles at a rally, wracking my brains, before I remembered where the keys were. Link to comment

Selden
I got so tired of "losing" my key in the seat lock that I did this with a $0.99 knob from Radio Shack: I have since blacked out the white line and dot, and wet-sanded the surface to a matte finish; it's virtually invisible. Unless I'm in a location where I'm concerned about security, it's there permanently. Other than topping off the oil supply in the rear shock adjuster, this has been the best mod for money I have made to the bike. Link to comment

tallman
Richard, It is like the older beemers w/the universal key. Most folks who would know what it was wouldn't steal the bike. I still carry one of those, just in case... Link to comment
