Welcome aboard.

As far as I can tell, these are the parts needed to add a seat instead of the radio box. I've also added a link that goes through the process.

This was the packing list. I bought the kit in 05 from Max BMW NY.

They were very helpful and lowest price I could find at that time, by alot. $675.00 plus shipping.

When I got the Strom, I use it for pillion and put the box back onthe -P.

I sold the kit minus a few bits for $500.00

I am just about to start the conversion process. Managed to pick up all the parts through this discussion group recently. If I can do it from Australia you guys over there should be able to manage it with ease.

Good luck.

Great site with the conversion photos too.

Regards

Ian

if you want to email me dc10bill@sbcglobal.net I will email photo's of my conversion you showing how I did my 2004 1150rt-p conversion for under $175.00,(Seat) but I already had the rear foot pegs from 1985 GS-750 Suzuki only parts that one might have to find I'm sure their are many Japanese MC foot pegs will fit other than ones I used. My conversion however no rear box/trunk! as I find no way to post photo's on this site!

removed 67lbs from my -p that went to the land fill! I don't think the CHP ever washed the bikes what a dirt bag, they are!

Hi Ian, How did you did you go about getting the bits for the conversion. I'm in Sydney and have tried all over the country side without much success. Hope it is going well, let me know.

Parts arrived today. Am in San Antonio on business. As we say down under, "happier than a pig in sh*t".

I could not have been luckier. Sourced the parts through this sight in the classifieds section.

I travel over here a couple of times a year so if you want to try and arrange something, you could get them delivered to where I am staying over here and I could arrange to freight the parts back or bring them back with me and we could meet at the border to do the transfer. Also come to Sydney quite a bit too.

PM me and I will give you my email address and mobile number if you want to follow up.

Regards

Ian

Just finished converting mine successfully a month ago. I picked up a complete package from a gentleman on ebay. I sent him the above list and he sent every single part (including screws, nuts, washers and bolts), well packaged to me in a few days. Cost was $350 and all the parts were in great shape. He knew exactly what was needed and I could not be happier. Make sure you ask for screws, nuts, washers and bolts. Hope this helps.
