The lady is gone

At about 2:17 AM this morning my mother passed on at age 87.

I post this only because, although I don't think any of you knew her directly, some of you knew her indirectly.

Before e-mail became to much for her, I would regularly forward posts from here to her. She particularly enjoyed the stories and pictures in the Ride Tales section. Sometimes she would respond with a reply or comment and I would post it as a reply. I know Russell was the recipient of some of her comments, I don't remember who else but there were others as well.

Excerpted from a note my brother sent out to family and friends:

.... I just wanted to send a short note to inform you that early this morning Irma Algover passed on. She had been at Palomar hospital because of an intestinal blockage and the Lord saw fit to use this event to grant her a very quick, painless and peaceful transition from this life. I was with her and can confirm the ease with which her spirit left its body behind when God called her Home.

On her, and our, behalf, Thank You for having added some joy to the life of an old lady.

I suspect that many of the people on this forum will be going through this in the next decade. "A very quick, painless and peaceful transition from this life" is about as good as it gets for one's final exit.

A peaceful transition when our time comes is a wonderful way to start the next leg of the journey. I'm happy that your brother was able to be a part of that.

I am sorry that your mother is gone away from you in this life. Many blessings from us to you and your family.

Sorry for your loss. I recently took my 76 year old mother for a 100 mile ride on my RT. It was the best thing I could have ever done. She couldn't stop talking to everyone about it and said she now understands why I've been riding my whole life. I look forward to another opportunity to take her for her next ride.

What beautiful words your brother had to share regarding her passing. Surely she was with the Lord within moments of her departure. Thank you for sharing. I never met her, but I met her son, and he impressed me as a gentleman of honor and integrity. I'm sure she had much to do with that.

Godspeed, Irma.

I'm sorry she's left this world, but I'm happy for her. Now, she can walk your doggies in heaven. May God rest her soul.

I guess I haven't been following this like I should have. As you can imagine, we've been pretty busy, including trying to track down some relatives still in Hungary.

Thank you all for your kind words and support.
