Firefight911
Wait a minute!! The EXhusband had the wheel as the EXwife prepared her nether regions for the pending visit with the new boyfriend that they were off to. The EXhusband then covers for the fur flying EXwife? I'd say, especially after seeing the picture, there are way more issues here than just a parallel to cell phone use! If I wasn't in the firefighting/EMS business I could see where this could be hard to believe. I can assure you, this story is most likely has had the grass mowed down from what really happened. The truth is stranger than fiction!!!! You just can't make some of this stuff up!! Link to comment
Lets_Play_Two
One of the reasons I am leaving Florida....I would hate to be bushwhacked!! Link to comment
Mike O
Did she get a ticket for DWS? She must have tilted UP the steering wheel, and moved the seat WAY back. Even then I don't know how this could be accomplished in the driver's seat of a Thunderbird (it has bucket seats!). I sure hope she wasn't planning on painting her toenails for her new boyfriend. Thankfully, she didn't kill anyone. Mike O P.S. This has got to qualify for a Darwin Award, does it not? Link to comment
tallman
OK, she is suspended from driving for 5 years, and then they tell her to bring the vehicle to be impounded? Another example of coddling. Once the court imposed the sentence it should have had the vehicle impounded. Good thing the only casualty was common sense. Link to comment
Agent_Orange
As 1bmwfan stated........there is a hellava lot more going on than is noted. FOR SURE! Link to comment

bmurphypdx
From today's news: Florida Highway Patrol: Driver lacked razor-sharp focus BY ADAM LINHARDT Citizen Staff alinhardt@keysnews.com As authorities nationwide warn motorists of the dangers of driving while texting, Florida Keys law enforcement officers add a new caution: Don't try to shave your privates, either. Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a two-vehicle crash Tuesday at Mile Marker 21 on Cudjoe Key was caused by a 37-year-old woman driver who was shaving her bikini area while her ex-husband took the wheel from the passenger seat. "She said she was meeting her boyfriend in Key West and wanted to be ready for the visit," Trooper Gary Dunick said. "If I wasn't there, I wouldn't have believed it. About 10 years ago I stopped a guy in the exact same spot ... who had three or four syringes sticking out of his arm. It was just surreal and I thought, 'Nothing will ever beat this.' Well, this takes it." Link to comment
JayW
Sounds dangerous all right, including to her own, uh, self. She clearly still has the upper hand in the relationship with her ex-husband. Jay Link to comment
Joel
I wouldn't expect that anyone stupid enough to do that could realize the full impact of the humiliation and other punishment she might deserve. But I can hope. Link to comment
Fubar
Thankfully, she didn't kill anyone. P.S. This has got to qualify for a Darwin Award, does it not? Side note: A Darwin award is given only for removing yourself from the gene pool either through death or self-induced sterility. No indication of that here, just a close shave. Maybe next time. So many scary issues with this case, most covered already. The ex must be covered in whip marks. The mug shot alone (she's only 37?!?) should be enough to scare off the (hopefully sober) new boyfriend. If not, the story will. Link to comment
