drswift
If so, you need to make your plans right away. Be sure to check out the lodging information for these ares in the "Attactions" section of the UnRally website. Lodging in Yosemite books up very early, but several motels outside the park might be worth considering. BOOK EARLY! Link to comment
CoarsegoldKid
Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp isn't too far from the gates on Hwy 41 to Yosemite. If you do want to see Yosemite you will need to stay at least one day for driveby sight seeing. A week for more up close and personal time. A must see is the view from Glacier Point, the view from the tunnel at the southwest end of the valley and the Mariposa Grove trees near the south entrance/exit on Hwy 41(short hike is worth it). Chuck McMullen
You can always stay at Bass lake, only 20 miles before Yosemite. Pines is really a nice lodge/ Food http://www.basslake.com/accommodations.html Chuck Link to comment
CoarsegoldKid
Bass Lake is a good visit also. Oakhurst has many more moderately priced motels and B&Bs. Where ever one stays the area is hard to beat. Link to comment
marcopolo
We (two couples) will be staying at a B&B (Houndstooth Inn) in Oakhurst for two nights after the Un. We booked rooms before Christmas. http://www.houndstoothinn.com/ Link to comment
