tcausey
So I was replacing my brake pads today along with all my fluids and everything was great until I got to the rear brakes. They didn't really need replacing (it's a good thing), but I was going to anway, but I couldn't get the caliper back on with the new pads (and I pressed the pistons back as far as they would go so that wasn't the issue. I ended up just sticking the old pads back in and went on my merry way. 2002 R1150RT The pads were Galfer. Any tricks I have missed? Thank you. Troy Link to comment

tcausey
Yes, one pad is thicker than the other and they pads only go in one way. I definitely tried to get the caliper on partially and then slide the other pad in as an option but no dice. I'll double check to ensure the pads are the right ones, but I'd be surprised if they're wrong. troy Link to comment
pjw73nh
Troy, Take a look here. Someone happened to ask about pad thickness when I was in the middle of doing mine 3 weeks ago. I measured both the old and the new. Brake pad measurments Paul.../NH Link to comment
