Kathy R
Took it off of the centerstand yesterday for the first time since November, disconnected the tender, turned the key and heard that sweet little growl. Quite a bit of grit on all parts of the roadway, a winter remanent. With respect for the cold tires and my brother following in the Sled, I took it easy. Seven miles later I handed the key to the dealer for the 15k service, install volt meter and replace the front throttle side signal. In a week I'll go back with 3 dozen homemade chocolate chip cookies. I thought I'd wrench it myself, but I'm taking the easy way out. It's been way too cold in that garage to even visit and I've been having way too much fun this winter enjoying this fabulous state. Figuring 2k left on the tires. The service manager thinks that's "plenty for my next trip at the end of April". Temperature permitting it should be more than ready for new rubber before then. I'm not going to N.C. with near end of use tires! I forgot to take a photo I'll have one in a week. By then the snow will have melted Soon, we'll all be riding again. Sweet Link to comment
Allen Rowand
Crazy; I did the same thing yesterday! Took the RT-P off the lift, put in a new battery (which was a good gamble, since I saw that the battery that was in when I bought the bike was made in '06) and took it for a quick spin. Rode fine, so I went back to the garage and put the bodywork on. Unfortunately, I have social obligations all day today. Tomorrow I need to ride for a few hours and test the Gerbings power feed I put in the tankbag yesterday Let the riding begin! Link to comment

I'm not going to N.C. with near end of use tires! Been there - done that! I checked the tires today and ordered 2 new sets of tires. One to be put on before heading to BRR and another to be put on just before heading to the UnRally. Link to comment
roughwaterjohn
Sweet! I forget that there are places where there are 'seasons' for riding. It's nice to be able to ride year round, but I imagine the time spent off the bike makes the final return, and all the time spent on two wheels, much more enjoyable. Looking forward to more ride tales! Link to comment

EddyQ
55F and sunny today in Boston area. Got my battery in today and took a ride. Life is good ! The weather has been plenty warm for quite a few weeks now, but rain, flurries and generally poor road conditions held me back. Forcast says nice weather for next four days ! My bike is due for the 12K service. But, I will burn a few tanks of gas through before it goes in. Just want to be sure the gas is fresh. Tires are good to go and so am I. Link to comment
