Charging Thoughts

I keep a bike cover on my F800ST and was wanting opinions on keeping a battery tender on it and the associated explosive gasses concentrating underneath the cover. Does anyone think this is a real problem?

Oops, this probably should've gone in the wrenching forum.

Even if the battery were to outgas, the resulting gas, Hydrogen, would permeate through the cover in short order. In addition, free Hydrogen isn't going to hang around very long before combining with O2 in the atmosphere. Even if it does, you would still need an ignition source.

Linc,

AGM, GEL, & sealed lead acid batteries won't gas so you are OK. Wet cell batteries with filler caps will gas, but I doubt that you have one of those .
