Jerry_75_Guy
I need to record customer service calls to a laptop as .wav files. Input device will be one of those Radio Shack units that plugs in line between the cradle and handset, with a 1/8 inch male jack to link this up to the laptop. What is the simplest, most cost effective software you'd recommend? Will 'Windows Media Player' do the job? Also, we'll be trying to spoof a number so the corporate ph # won't show up on the caller ID of the staff we're evaluating. We could use *67, or buy a prepaid 'spoof card'; any suggestions? Selden
Do you need the actual voice recording, or would a transcript suffice? If the latter, transcription is an automatic feature of Google Voice -- and in my limited experience with GV, it works pretty well. Link to comment
Jerry_75_Guy
We need to be able to hear the staffer's voice; a portion of the assessment is based upon items like tone, rate of delivery, etc. Link to comment

Jerry Johnston
There a a lot of shareware programs available. Look at this site recorders I used a program called Advanced AV Rack and connected from the cell phone output into the line input of my computer - worked great. I tried a phone pickup but got too much hum. Link to comment
