Kathy, Norm and I left Beatty at 8:00 AM, home in Santa Paula about 1:30....Sprinkles and light rain from Santa Clarita in was all we had...Just enough to get the bikes nasty...

Thanks to all for a great time, Sourdough pics later (those that can be legally posted ).......

Graydude in at 1:50 only missing some of the Chargers 1st quarter. I should have missed it all. Sweet ride home with no moisture at all. I'm looking for someone to pass the torch to for next year so step on up!

Got in at around 3:00. What a great bunch of people to ride, eat, and just bs with. On the ride back home Gary pointed out that my rear tire cord was wearing through and boy did it go fast. Don and Cornelius road with me to California City to see about a tire but the shop had none. They found one in Lancaster, Riders Choice where fortunately Don's wife had brought a wrench so Don and I pulled the old tire off which they mounted quickly. We put it back on and I was on my merry way. Thanks again guys!

Sharon and Jan stopped for the night in Hurricane, UT. They say Her-e-ken. Don't be sayin' Hur-i-cane around here! :)

Comfy little Rodeway Inn for cheap. Right next to the espresso shop!

Dry and light winds today. Weather supposed to come tonight and be out by late morning. Should be a great drive home.

Was great seeing everyone old and new. Fantastic turnout!

The Missus and I are hunkered down in Baja O'Neals (yes, the eastern Heck House) after a wonderful ride (well until we got to Bakersfield anyway). Gerbings, and Kilamenjaro suits are sorry to say not very waterproof. Not even water resistant. Where do the accessory purchases ever end??

Had a great time- good to see all the regular folks and great to meet the noobs!! Todd- nice job!! JohnLT nominated you for next year....I second the motion!!!

It is hard to find a better steak.....

See you all on the next one- I have to finish the ride to Carmel Valley tomorrow...Prolly won't be much drier. Anyone with info on how to dry Gerbings out without damaging them Please PM me- (other than the usual hang them up and wait)

Thank you to all- It was really a blast!! Date shakes....MMMMM....

Linda and I got home at 3:30. Nice ride back, rode with BrianT from Baker to Rancho Cucamonga.

Bike started without assistance this morning. John Thompson loaned me a set of jumper cables. Didn't have to use them on my bike but they were put to good use to start a recalcitrant R12RT (didn't get the gentleman's name)

Great seeing everyone.

Got a late start this morning, but had a mostly fun ride out 190 and around Isabella to Bakersfield. The last 3.5 hours were all rain and I5, nothing good to say about that. In at 5:30. It was a pleasure to meet all the new friends and great to see the old ones again.

I haven't heard of a single speed award yet! Come on, somebody must have earned one! Time to come clean.

I'm enjoying the check in reports and anxiously awaiting tales and pictures... :lurk:

Regretfully, I scrubbed the trip after nearly $700 vet bills for my sick dog (now well) wiped out my travel budget. A prudent decision it seemed but with reflection, not so in the Grand Scheme of Life.

Reports of "damp arrival home" pale compared to the week ahead of steady and often heavy rain (started at noon here). El Nino is back with a vengeance since 1998. Seems very lucky DVD 2010 was doable...

Debbie and I did a tour of Scotty's Castle on the way back. (Highly recommended!) Made it back to Ridgecrest shortly after 5:00, and she's now safe back in Bako.

Thanks, everyone, for a great weekend!

That would be me. Thanks again to you, John, and Michael, and the electrician with the pick-up (his name escapes me) who stayed with me while my RT chugged slowly.

Made it home at 6:30 after detouring to Wild Rose and beyond, and then stopping every so often for pics.

It started raining just north of Mojave, but I didn't want to stop to put on my all weather lowers. Mistake. My 1st Gear Rainier Jacket did keep my upper body warm and dry though. Great piece of gear. It kept me dry at Temecula TechDaze too.

For those of you who took 190 in/out of DV from the west, Father Crowley Vista Point which overlooks Panamint Valley is not to be missed. I stopped there on the way in too but didn't see the rocky trail that leads to the real view. Wow. It's more suited to the gs, but the rt made rough 1/2 mi. ok. Don't miss this stop.

Made it in yesterday about 5....started raining just before the 15/215 merge. We suffered through it..... Great to see everyone!!

Had a wonderful time again at DVD!

After spending last night at Coarsegold Kid's (and enjoying wonderful hospitality served up by Joe and Juanita) I headed north this morning on Hwy 41/49. I had nothing but rain and narley wind gusts for seven hours until I reached Auburn, 30 miles from home! Truly sucko riding weather. :P But I'm home in one piece!

Left Morrow Bay at 7am for a stop just above SF in rain that just poured, stopped at Gordo for breckfast and the 40 MPH winds wanted to take the RT off its sidestand, road crews were busy kee3ping the road clear as the slides kept coming.... 70 miles of dodging rocks mud and burn debre....BUT, Big Sur gets the pucker gold star.

Big Sur can be its own eco-system and when I dropped down the rain was a SOLID WALL of water, visability was 0 due to the water was part of the cloud (think white out ) I followed a PGE lineman truck who never got over 15 MPH. Only last a few fearsome miles and it left me with a grin from ear to ear( thinking of people who boast that their RT has never been in thge rain.

Tomarrow I get to meet Katy and her Birds(Katy is BarrynMarin's wife ) than its off to MotoMarin with Barry to check out the store and say hi to Cary if he's around,Than I start home

Finished the trip to Carmel Valley this morning, think I got into Tank's rainstorm as it crossed over Pacheco Pass. 50+ MPH wind gusts with that solid wall of water he mentioned. So much for drying out the gear. Get to do it all over again. Back to Baja O'Neals in the cage this afternoon to pick up the Missus- the trike has brake issues that will be resolved before it hits the road again.

Had a blast anyway... Ready for the next adventure !
